“We no longer need it. We know the dangers. We know what to do. The elderly can isolate we’ve got this. There is no longer justification for this lockdown. The curve bended [sic] hospitals are not overwhelmed. So what are we waiting for? Don’t tell me a vaccine. We don’t know when or if that will happen.” 100,000 Americans have now died from this pandemic.
A look at the Ocean City, Maryland boardwalk this afternoon. The sunny weather brought out the people. Masks are encouraged but not required.
Topped off with some performative coughing. The politicization of science has reached a crisis point in the US.
Doug Burgum: “I would really love to see in North Dakota that we could just skip this thing that other parts of the nation are going through. Where they are trading a divide either its ideological or political or something over mask versus no mask. This is, I would say, a senseless dividing line and I would ask people to try and dial to dials up your empathy and understand. If someone is wearing a mask they’re not doing it to represent what political party or what candidates they support. They might be doing it because they have a 5 year old child who is going through cancer treatments. They might have vulnerable adults in their life who currently have COVID and who are fighting it. And so, again, I would just love to see our state as part of being North Dakota smart as being North Dakota kind, North Dakota empathetic.”
“All of this has been promulgated by the democrats to undo all the good that President Trump has done for our country and they are worried. So take off your masks! Exercise your constitutional rights. Stand up, speak up and vote Republican.” Then finishes by hugging and air kissing her plump colleagues.
