When Boris Johnson was foreign secretary he faced some tough questions about his history of writing controversial opinion pieces which included accusing Obama of "harbouring a part-Kenyan’s ancestral dislike for the British Empire” and claiming untruthfully that he “didn’t want a Churchill bust in the White House”. Of Hillary Clinton as being someone “with dyed-blonde hair, pouty lips and a steely blue stare... like a sadistic nurse in a mental hospital”.
The entire Brexit process has been a tour de force demonstration of how a poor decision can lead to an exponential escalation of problems as attempting to avoid the reality of those consequences becomes ever more difficult. Breaking international treaties signed merely months ago and celebrated as a great win seems like a dangerous misstep on an already rocky path. Even by the erratic standards of those running the UK this seems to be quite a dramatic move towards turning the UK into an international pariah and failed state, though.
The nasal guffaw at the end is quite something.
